Egypt's Non-Petroleum Exports Hit EGP12.3 bln in February

Egyptian non-petroleum exports witnessed stability in last January estimated at EGP12.32 billion.
The monthly report issued by General Organization for export and import control Egypt (GOEIC) and affiliated to Ministry of Industry and Foreign Trade revealed that some sectors achieved Export boom in February as Leather Export Council of Egypt (LEC) attained EGP138 million exports in compared to EGP95 million in February 2013, move up by 46% and Textile Export Council hiked by 23% registering EGP542 million exports.
The remarkable increase in industrial exports is owed in large part to a significant rise in exports from the Chemical and Fertilizers Export Council with 21% (EGP2.6 billion ) in the last February against EGP2.4 billion in February 2013.
Egyptian Exporting Council of Medical industries ECMI increased by 16% (EGP282 million) against EGP1.4 billion in February 2013.
Agriculture Export Council inched by 7% with EGP1.7 billion exports compared to EGP1.6 billion in February 2013, Food Export Council surged by 6% with EGP1.5 billion in last February compared to EGP1.4 billion in February 2013.
Egyptian Furniture Export Council achieved EGP400 million in last February and the exports of engineering industries reached EGP1.2 billion.
