Exclusive: Industry Ministry Targets EGP 194.7 Bln Exports and EGP 22.49 Bln Investments

Dr. Mahmoud Eissa, minister of trade and foreign industry, approved the industrial exporting plan for FY 2012/2013 ending on June 30th 2013, which targets exporting non-petroleum industries of EGP 194.7 billion.
Amwal Al Ghad was informed that the plan, approved by the minister, considers investments of EGP 22.49 billion in 12 industrial sectors including ready-made clothes, home furnishings, spinning and weaving, building materials, construction and metallurgical industry, chemical and fertilizers industries, engineering industries, food, furniture and woods industry, agricultural crops, leather and tanning industries, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics industries and printing and packaging industry.
Foreign trade sector targets to achieve EGP 15.9 billion from exports of ready-made clothes, EGP 4.5 billion from home furnishings, EGP 4.8 billion from spinning and weaving industries, EGP 37.4 billion from building materials, construction and metallurgical industries, EGP 41.7 billion from chemical and fertilizers industries, EGP 37.6 billion from engineering industries, EGP 20.2 billion from food industries, EGP 4 billion from furniture and woods industries, EGP 17.5 billion from agricultural crops, EGP 2 billion from leather and tanning industries, EGP 6.1 billion from pharmaceuticals and cosmetics industries and EGP 3 billion from printing and packaging industry.
The draft plan for Egypt's exports for the next fiscal year coincided with the preparation of the general budget. The draft plan targets attracting investments of EGP 22.49 billion in the 12 sectors as such; EGP 3.5 billion in ready-made clothes sector, EGP 2 billion in home furnishing, EGP 1.6 billion in spinning and weaving sector, EGP 1.3 billion in building materials, construction and metallurgical industries sector, EGP 2.1 billion in chemical and fertilizers sector, EGP 2 billion in engineering sector, EGP 5 billion in food industries sector, EGP 800 million in furniture and woods sector, EGP 2 billion in agricultural crops sector, EGP one billion in leather and tanning industries sector, EGP 1.19 billion in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics industries sector and EGP 111 million in printing and packaging industry.
