Cabinet Endorses Development Projects Worth EGP764.2 mln in Halayeb Triangle

Egyptian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Ashraf Al-Arabi said the Cabinet has ratified an urgent plan for integrated development of Berencie, South Egypt Red Sea (Halayeb, Shalateen and Abu Ramad) with total investments up to EGP764.2 million. The urgent plans aims to implement Infrastructure and community works, in addition to provide this triangle (Halayeb Triangle)with integrated services to lure investments and tourism projects in the region.

Berencie is considered to be the most important tourism and investment region inside Egypt, as it has tourism, investment, human and natural potential resources which require attention.
The Minister added that this plan comes in the framework of the government policy to help citizens, establish social justice, economic stimulus and to lure investments through implementing Infrastructure works and social services to qualify good atmosphere for the private and governmental sectors. Al-Arabi added that these projects will be implemented according to one year timetable till the end of 2014, noting that the plan will include approving EGP340 million in order to complete network roads ,EGP154.3 million for drinking water projects ,EGP84 million for housing projects and EGP41 million to continue water well and agricultural Greenhouses.
In addition to allocating hospitals and health unit projects, which have been allocated EGP13 million as well as electricity projects which worth EGP22 million, and many other sectors that target to improve its conditions in the region.
