Egypt's Main Index Closes at 6049 on Sunday, Highest in Almost 3 Years

Egypt Shares ended sessions on Sunday higher attaining gains totaled EGP 3.1 billion. The benchmark index has closed above 6045 points on non-Arab foreign net buyers.
The Egyptian bourse announced that Eid Al-Adha Vacation to start on Monday 14/10/2013 until Thursday 17/10/2013. Business will be resumed on Sunday 20/10/2013.
The Egyptian Exchange indices were wavering in green notes Sunday afternoon.
Egypt's benchmark index EGX30 ended 1.04 per cent higher to 6049.09 pts, and the EGX20 also 1 per cent up to 7127.97 pts.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 surged by 1.03 per cent to conclude at 508.74 pts. The price index EGX100 increased by 1.15 per cent to close at 859.85 pts.
The capital market has closed at EGP 396.271 billion on Sunday.
Turnovers
Through the closing session of Sunday, the trading volume has reached 165.855 million securities. For the traded value, it hit EGP 451.998 million, exchanged through 25.726 thousand transactions.
Also during the closing session, 178 listed securities have been traded in; 32 declined, 125 advanced; while 21 keeping their previous levels.
Investors' Activity
The non-Arab foreigners were net buyers bolstering EGX's closing gains seizing 5.18% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 24.638 million, excluding the deals.
On the other hand, Egyptians and Arabs were net sellers as they acquired 90.18% and 4.64% respectively, of the total market, with net equities of EGP 24.621 million and EGP 16.797 thousand, excluding the deals.
