Egypt's National Authority for Military Production signed a memorandum of understanding with Swiss firm Stark to manufacture and market electric motors, the authority said on Wednesday. The agreement, witnessed by Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah El-Din Moustafa, will see the two sides jointly produce low-voltage motors ranging from 0.25 to 300 kilowatts at the authority's factories. The production lines will meet International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards and are intended to support Egypt's push to become a regional centre for producing and exporting electric motors and their control systems. The minister said the partnership aligns with directives from President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to localise advanced manufacturing technologies within military production companies through cooperation with specialised international partners in both defence and civilian industries.
