Egypt will host the seventh edition of the Turathna (Our Heritage) Exhibition from Oct. 4–11 in Cairo, under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the country's small business agency said on Sunday. The annual fair, organised by the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA), brings together artisans, heritage industries, and partner institutions from across Egypt to showcase traditional crafts and expand market access. It will take place at the Egypt International Exhibition Centre. MSMEDA chief Basil Rahmy said the exhibition highlights the government's commitment to supporting the handicrafts sector, which provides jobs for millions of Egyptians, particularly in Upper Egypt and border governorates. "Holding Turathna annually under the president's patronage underscores the state's recognition of these ancient arts and their role in preserving Egyptian culture," he said. This year's edition will feature more than 1,000 projects in heritage products and will see the participation of a record number of government ministries, civil society groups, and international institutions. He added that the event aims to provide artisans with financial and technical support, new marketing channels, and opportunities to export their products abroad. The 2025 exhibition will adopt ancient Egyptian civilisation as its theme, reflecting the roots of traditional crafts and their evolution over thousands of years, Rahmy said.
