Egypt's government is preparing the second phase of its tax facilitation initiative, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said after meeting Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk on Monday, according to a Cabinet statement. The new package follows swiftly on the heels of the first phase launched earlier this year, underscoring the government's push to modernise the tax system, strengthen credibility with businesses and taxpayers, and improve services, the statement said. Kouchouk said the measures will include faster VAT refunds, new tax support centres in the governorates, and incentives for compliant taxpayers. Additional reforms are being designed to address feedback from businesses, taxpayers, accountants and tax experts, he added. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English Subediting: Y.Yasser
