Salafists May Endorse Al Shater
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 02 - 04 - 2012

On Thursday, the Salafist Al Nour Party will officially announce the candidate's name that it will endorse; this after finishing the interior referendum of the party's members. Meanwhile, news about the party's endorsement of MB's Eng. Khairat al-Shater spreads.
In exclusive statements to “Amwal Al Ghad", Mahmoud Abbas, the party's secretariat in Alexandria, said that Al Nour Party has presented 3names for presidential elections; they are Eng. Khairat al-Shatar, Shiekh Hazem Salah Abu Ismail and Dr. Mohamed Selim El- Awa. He assured that Al-shater is the luckiest, as the party enlisted him on the top about a month ago; even Al-shater has denied before his running for presidential elections.
Abbas said the party believed that Al-Shater's denial of running for president was a political maneuver so the party enlisted him on the top of the party's candidates.
He has completely denied the accusations concerning the party's following the Muslim Brotherhood and not announcing the candidate which the party endorses. Abass mentioned that the party was backing “Al-Shater", but it hasn't enough courage to declare this; especially “Al-shater" wasn't presented by MB that time
He illustrated that the party is examining now the reactions around Eng. Khairat Al-Shater's running for president and how is the Egyptian street endorse him to declare its final stance next Thursday.
