Egypt's Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) said on Wednesday its ports handled key strategic cargo this week, highlighting their role in supporting national projects and boosting trade flows. Port of Sokhna received the Ro-Ro vessel Bahri Abha with 900 cars, 40 drilling rigs and 10 cargo parcels, which will be reloaded onto Bahri Yanbu bound for France's Port of Montoir. SCZONE said this marked Sokhna's first direct transit of vehicles and heavy equipment. Separately, Adabiya Port received the M.V. Liberty Harvest from China carrying 50 energy storage units for a renewable energy project in Nag Hammadi — the first battery shipment to arrive at the port. SCZONE said the arrivals underscore its growing capacity to handle diverse cargo and support national infrastructure and energy projects as it continues expansion works to enhance its regional competitiveness.
