Egypt's Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar held talks with executives from Grifols Egypt for Plasma Derivatives (GEPD) to discuss expanding cooperation and localising the production of plasma-derived medicines, the Health Ministry said on Thursday. The meeting, which included the head of Egypt's Unified Procurement Authority (UPA) Hisham Stait, reviewed the company's joint projects with the government and explored strategies to scale up domestic supply. Minister Abdel Ghaffar reaffirmed the government's support for the partnership and pledged to provide necessary resources to sustain and expand local production. Talks also covered challenges in the pharmaceutical sector and outlined proposals to improve supply chain efficiency and better meet local demand for plasma-based therapies.
