Egypt's Suez Canal Authority (SCA) is advancing plans to boost external marketing of industrial and maritime activities through enhanced cooperation with the Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS), according to an SCA statement on Monday. SCA Chairman Osama Rabie, during his meeting with ECS Chairman Abdel Aziz Elsherif, Minister Plenipotentiary Commercial, Head of the Commercial Office, said that SCA is pursuing an ambitious strategy to diversify income sources by localising the manufacture of marine units such as tugs, yachts, and launches, while introducing new maritime services for the global shipping community, including marine ambulance services, crew changes, waste collection, and fuel supply. He stressed the need for state institutions to coordinate efforts to promote Egyptian products abroad and generate hard currency for the economy. El Sherif affirmed the ECS's readiness to help craft a joint action plan to boost exports, access new markets, and attract investment in the maritime industry and logistics services, leveraging the ECS's network of 44 offices in 42 countries. The two sides agreed to form a joint working group to study investment opportunities, assess foreign market prospects, and evaluate the technical feasibility of the SCA's external marketing strategy.
