Egypt's Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Mahmoud Esmat, has held a meeting with EGEMAC Chairman Osama Abdallah and officials from XD-EGEMAC to review progress on transformer stations supporting the New Delta agricultural development projects. XD-EGEMAC is a joint venture established in 2009 between China XD and Egypt's EGEMAC. The meeting reviewed the project timeline and deadlines for delivering the electricity infrastructure, including the implementation of distribution networks and transmission lines at various voltage levels. Special attention was given to supplying electricity to pump stations, particularly from the northern source at the Hammam lifting stations. Esmat called for amendments to the current work plan to ensure permanent and continuous power supply, urging acceleration in the construction of transformer stations. He stressed the need for cooperation among all stakeholders to intensify efforts, increase shifts, and expedite technical work on transmission towers along the designated line. The minister stressed the need to overcome all obstacles to ensure the project's completion and timely operation. He added that the ministry will provide temporary power sources to meet immediate needs until they connect the main stations to the grid, highlighting the urgency of powering agricultural production in the New Delta region.
