Jordan's Minister of Agriculture Khaled Hneifat received Adel Abdel Azim, Head of Egypt's Agricultural Research Centre, and his delegation in Amman to explore avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation in the sector, an official report said on Tuesday. The meeting, held in line with directives from Egypt's Minister of Agriculture Alaa Farouk, aimed to expand joint efforts in agricultural research, seed development, and fertiliser production, the report added. Both sides agreed on enhancing coordination, exchanging technical expertise, and facilitating trade in agricultural inputs, such as improved seeds and fertilisers. They also stressed the need for direct channels between relevant institutions and the private sector to translate opportunities into tangible partnerships. The visit marks a new step towards advancing Jordanian-Egyptian agricultural collaboration, with a shared focus on boosting food security and sectoral sustainability in the region.
