Egypt keen to cement sustainable African health partnerships – Deputy PM
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 12 - 06 - 2025

Egypt's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar affirmed the country's strong commitment to building strategic partnerships with African nations, particularly in the health sector, to help establish inclusive and sustainable healthcare systems across the continent.
His remarks came during the preparatory meeting held on the sidelines of Egypt's hosting of the Regional Steering Committee (ReSCO) and the Regional Technical Advisory Committee (ReTAC) of the North Africa Regional Coordination Centre (RCC), part of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC).
Abdel Ghaffar emphasised the importance of mutual trust, shared benefits, and deep understanding in strengthening regional cooperation.
He welcomed the participating delegations on behalf of the Egyptian leadership and people and praised Africa CDC's efforts in fostering dialogue and health development across the region.
Abdel Ghaffar stressed that successful partnerships go beyond signed agreements, calling for a human-centred approach rooted in mutual respect and cultural exchange. He urged delegates to take advantage of the meeting to explore Africa's diverse cultures and share knowledge to build stronger ties.
Highlighting the continent's rich cultural and linguistic diversity, he encouraged a spirit of mutual learning as a pathway to deeper professional cooperation.
He also called on participants to actively engage in the committee's work and ensure the election of capable leaders for the upcoming term, stressing the value of inclusive dialogue and collective vision in advancing health development across Africa.
