The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed higher on Wednesday, supported by foreign and Arab investor buying. The benchmark EGX30 index rose 0.37 per cent to 30,838.98 points. The EGX33 Shariah index gained 0.63 per cent to 3,214.17 points, while the EGX70 small and mid-cap index added 0.54 per cent to 9,040.23 points. The broader EGX100 index advanced 0.56 per cent to 12,302.61 points. Total market capitalisation reached 2.18 trillion Egyptian pounds. Arab investors were net buyers with 1.35 billion pounds in purchases, while non-Arab foreigners bought a net 11.86 billion pounds.
