Egypt's Universal Health Insurance Authority (UHIA) signed a cooperation protocol with the Federation of Egyptian Banks (FEB) to simplify enrolment for bank employees and their families under the Universal Health Insurance System, according to a statement from the Cabinet. The agreement establishes a framework for facilitating access to health coverage for employees of Egypt's banking sector who fall under the provisions of the country's health insurance law. The collaboration includes simplifying registration, collecting subscription payments, and distributing health insurance cards through bank branches in governorates where the system has been implemented. Mohamed El-Etreby, chairman of the FEB, stated that the protocol reflects the banking sector's strategic commitment to supporting national efforts to achieve universal health coverage, according to the announcement. He added that the FEB is keen to enhance healthcare services for its workforce, noting that the partnership guarantees access to high-quality and sustainable medical services for bank employees and their families.
