Egypt's Minister of Public Business Sector Mohamed Shimi held a meeting with a delegation from a consortium led by Russia's Rusal Group — one of the world's largest aluminium producers — and UAE-based Fleet Energy, to explore potential partnership opportunities with Egyptalum. The meeting, the third between the two sides, reviewed the technical and economic studies conducted by Rusal regarding cooperation with Egyptalum, a subsidiary of the Metallurgical Industries Holding Company and a key player in the aluminium sector. Shimi stressed the ministry's commitment to enhancing partnerships with major global firms to boost local industry, adopt advanced technologies, and increase the productivity and competitiveness of state-owned companies. The talks come amid wider efforts to attract foreign investment, promote local manufacturing, and raise value-added output. The discussions form part of a broader series of engagements between the ministry and international companies aimed at unlocking investment and development opportunities across Egypt's industrial sectors.
