Swedish premium electric vehicle maker Polestar will begin delivering cars in France this year, aiming to make it one of its top three European markets, the company's France managing director Stéphane Le Guével told Reuters. The move comes as Polestar, majority-owned by China's Geely, shifts focus toward profitable European markets amid a global EV slowdown, cash pressures, and tariff challenges. Europe already accounts for 75 per cent of Polestar's sales, with the UK and Sweden currently leading. After pausing expansion since 2022, Polestar will open its first French showroom in Le Mans this July and begin delivering the Polestar 2, 3, and 4 models in October, priced between €46,800 and €79,800. The French launch had been delayed due to a logo dispute with Stellantis-owned DS Automobiles, which was settled in 2022. Polestar will continue to rely on former parent Volvo for servicing and some manufacturing support. Attribution: Reuters Subediting: Nada Ali
