STC Expands FTTH Network To More Than 600 Locations

Saudi Telecom Co ( STC ) has expanded FTTH network to be able to connect more than 600 locations with the 6,000 kilometer FTTH network across the Kingdom within its continuous efforts to execute the strategic extension phase of its network to connect all sectors and facilities including households and residential buildings via the most recent telecom technologies that meets customer needs.
Engineer Mizyad bin Nasser Al Harbi, VP of Home sector, indicated that STC has provided the fiber optic service at high speeds of 1000 MB/s to take customers to a new era in all broadband applications. He added STC enabled customers enjoy fiber optic service to move towards smart home concept and using broadband services and their high speeds in browsing and download different household applications and usages. There is also a possibility of providing various content services such as IPTV, Video in Demand, recreations services as well as telephone call services of all Jood saving bundles and interactive games and modern social communications channels and other services.
Mizyad further said STC has harnessed all its resources to serve more than 200 thousand households with FTTH services by securing highly trained technical teams to place FTTH wirings at no cost and overcome all obstacles that might hinder implementation. FTTH service is very safe and protected against electromagnetic interference, stable and not affected by natural factors. All customers can get the service by calling 907 or visiting one of STC offices spread across the Kingdom.
