South Korea's exports experienced a single-digit increase in the first 10 days of this month, driven by a surge in demand for domestically produced semiconductors and automobiles, data from the Customs office showed on Wednesday. Exports reached $15.47 billion during the June 1-10 period, showing a 5.4 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2024. The average daily export surged by 15.0 per cent to $2.81 billion over the 10 days. Semiconductor exports increased by 22.0 per cent to reach $3.63 billion, while automotive shipments grew by 8.4 per cent to $1.30 billion. While imports surged by 11.5 per cent compared to the previous year, reaching $17.18 billion in the first 10 days of June, resulting in a trade deficit of $1.71 billion. Attribution: Xinhua
