Trade between Egypt and Sudan recorded $1.2 billion in 2024, down from $1.4 billion a year earlier, Egypt's state statistics agency CAPMAS said on Monday. Egyptian exports to Sudan declined to $866.2 million from $989 million in 2023, while imports from Sudan fell to $292.4 million from $388.2 million. Top Egyptian Exports to Sudan in 2024: 1. Mill products – $218 million. 2. Sugar and its products – $84 million. 3. Cereal preparations – $42 million. 4. Iron and steel – $41 million. 5. Garments – $39 million. Main Imports from Sudan to Egypt in 2024: 1. Live Animals – $129 million. 2. Oilseeds and grains – $87 million. 3. Cotton – $52 million. 4. Pearls, precious stones, and jewellery – $17 million. Sudanese investments in Egypt stood at $1.5 million in the 2023/2024 fiscal year, down from $5.8 million the previous year. Egyptian investments in Sudan reached $700,000, up from $500,000. Egyptian remittances from Sudan totalled $3.9 million, down from $8.9 million, while Sudanese remittances from Egypt dropped to $521,000 from $3.4 million.
