Trump calls for free passage of US ships through Suez, Panama canals

US President Donald Trump declared on Saturday that all American ships — both military and commercial — should be allowed to pass through the Panama and Suez canals without paying fees.
"American Ships, both Military and Commercial, should be allowed to travel, free of charge, through the Panama and Suez Canals! Those Canals would not exist without the United States of America." Trump said in a Truth Social post.
"I've asked Secretary of State Marco Rubio to immediately take care of, and memorialise, this situation!"
