Egypt's Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El Khatib met with the Czech Ambassador to Egypt Ivan Jukl, to discuss strengthening bilateral economic cooperation and encouraging joint investments, as per a Cabinet statement. The two sides explored ways to support partnerships between the public and private sectors in both countries. El Khatib highlighted Egypt's priority to attract high-tech investments that promote sustainable development and generate decent, productive jobs. The minister expressed his intention to visit the Czech Republic soon, leading an official delegation that includes Egyptian business leaders to showcase recent investment climate reforms in Egypt and explore new avenues for cooperation. El Khatib also reaffirmed Egypt's goal to boost its trade competitiveness and join the world's top 50 economies in trade by cutting customs clearance times and costs and utilising World Trade Organisation (WTO) tools to protect domestic industries. Ambassador Jukl praised Egypt's economic vision and reform agenda, calling the meeting a practical roadmap for enhancing bilateral partnerships. He said Czech companies are keen to expand into promising markets like Egypt, especially in advanced industries such as aerospace, and are focused on creating hundreds of jobs. Both sides agreed on the need to activate the Egyptian-Czech Business Council and organise an upcoming visit featuring a business forum with public and private sector representatives to deepen investment partnerships and broaden economic cooperation.
