Egypt's Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade has extended the disbursement period of additional grant commodities for ration card beneficiaries until the end of May. The move aims to ease collection for beneficiaries. The decision comes as part of the ministry's ongoing oversight of the grant distribution system and its efforts to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries receive their designated support. It also reflects a broader commitment to strengthening the living conditions of families in need. According to the ministry, disbursement during May will proceed under the same rules and criteria set out in the ministerial decree, with additional commodities continuing to be delivered from wholesale companies' warehouses to ration outlets without interruption. Traders will also be permitted to restock from warehouses as needed, without restrictions on the number of restocks per month, to ensure consistent availability of goods across all outlets. Moreover, the ministry has urged grant beneficiaries to visit the designated ration outlets during April and May to collect their entitlements before the end of the extended period.
