Egypt's Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib on Sunday started a visit to India to enhance the economic ties between the two countries in trade, industry, and investment sectors, per the ministry's statement. El-Khatib will have a meeting with senior Indian officials, organisations, and approximately nine companies to discuss current economic policies to attract investors and boost foreign trade. In addition to providing investment opportunities in Egypt, the goal is to attract increased Indian investments to the Egyptian market across a range of productive and service sectors, the statement added. He will meet with Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal. He will also participate in a roundtable with CEOs of Indian firms at the Confederation of Indian Industry headquarters. El-Khatib will also hold discussions with officials from several Indian companies operating in sectors of mutual interest, including automotive, chemical industries, and energy, according to the statement.
