Egypt and Cyprus signed an agreement to develop and expand the Cyprus' Cronos gas field. The deal, announced on Monday at The Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES 2025), will leverage Egypt's infrastructure to maximise benefits for both nations. Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi, speaking at the event, highlighted that the agreement reflects the successful collaboration between Egypt and Cyprus, which extends beyond energy, fostering economic growth, sustainability, and new opportunities. Descalzi further reaffirmed Eni's commitment to advancing Egyptian-Cypriot cooperation and driving regional growth and sustainability within the energy sector. He also extended his gratitude to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and the Egyptian government for organising EGYPES 2025, an event that emphasises the growing importance of the Eastern Mediterranean in securing global energy supplies.
