bp has commenced production from the second development phase of the Raven field, offshore Egypt, as part of the West Nile Delta (WND) project, with new wells expected to produce 220 billion cubic feet of gas and 7 million barrels of condensate. The company announced on Sunday. According to the bp's statement, the phase includes subsea tiebacks of additional infill wells to existing onshore infrastructure as part of the West Nile Delta (WND) project. bp, which holds an 82.75 per cent stake in the project, said the development was completed ahead of schedule, accelerating production. Harbour Energy owns the remaining 17.25 per cent. "The focus of the Raven Infills project has been to offset natural decline and increase production while maximising our existing infrastructure to meet Egypt's domestic market demand at pace," said Nader Zaki, bp Regional President for the Middle East and North Africa. Wail Shaheen, Vice President of bp Egypt, said the safe start-up of the project follows bp's recent announcement of the successful completion of the El King exploration well. He added that this series of achievements reinforces the company's commitment to optimising production and meeting local energy demand. Part of the WND Gas Development, the Raven field began production in early 2021. Its initial phase included eight subsea wells up to 65 km offshore at depths between 550 and 700 meters.
