Egypt's Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, held talks with representatives from Pfizer on the sidelines of Arab Health 2025 from 27-30 January in Dubai to discuss strengthening collaboration in the healthcare sector, as per a Cabinet statement on Wednesday. Abdel Ghaffar emphasised the importance of advancing co-operation between the ministry and Pfizer to enhance Egypt's healthcare system. Discussions included Pfizer's involvement in Egypt's Cancer Early Detection Presidential Initiative, advanced haemophilia treatment, and the use of AI in managing breast cancer patient data. The minister also directed increased collaboration with Egypt's state-owned vaccine manufacturer, Vacsera, to provide the latest respiratory virus vaccines, ensuring local demand is met at affordable prices. Additionally, an agreement was reached to supply the meningococcal quadrivalent vaccine in coordination with Egypt's Unified Procurement Authority (UPA). Abdel Ghaffar stressed the need to boost investment in scientific research and implement specialised training programmes to enhance the skills of healthcare professionals.
