Air Cairo reported impressive growth across its operations in 2024, with key performance indicators reflecting significant progress compared to 2023, according to a statement by the Egyptian Ministry of Aviation on Thursday.
The airline carried 5 million passengers in 2024, up from 4.1 million in the previous year, marking a notable increase in its customer base. This growth was supported by a rise in the number of flights, which reached 42,000 in 2024, compared to 36,000 in 2023.
Operational hours also surged, with Air Cairo recording 123,000 operative hours in 2024, a substantial increase from 100,600 hours in 2023. The airline's fleet expanded to 37 aircraft, up from 31 the previous year, enabling the company to meet growing demand and enhance its regional and international coverage.
The airline's performance in key markets showed remarkable improvement. Flights to Saudi Arabia increased by 1,302 in 2024, reaching a total of 5,028 flights. Services to Kuwait grew by 240 flights, with 1,070 flights recorded in 2024. In Central Asia, weekly flights to Kazakhstan doubled from 6 to 12, while European operations saw an increase of 72 flights to Italy, totalling 1,094 flights.
