China greenlights 5 nuclear plants

China's cabinet has approved five new nuclear power projects, including the first phase of the Jiangsu Xuwei project, Reuters reported citing China's news agency Xinhua.
The Jiangsu Xuwei project, developed by a subsidiary of China National Nuclear Power, will have a designed capacity of 2,866 megawatts and is currently in the preparation stage.
This approval marks a significant step in China's expansion of its nuclear energy infrastructure.
