Egypt for stronger co-operation with intl. partners

Egypt's Minister of Planning and Economic Development and International Co-operation, Rania Al-Mashat, has held intensive discussions with several international officials to reinforce future cooperation on the side lines of the G20 meetings in Brazil to strengthen strategic partnerships globally by focusing on enhancing investments through the ongoing investment guarantee mechanism and bolstering structural reforms.
Al-Mashat met with Jutta Urpilainen, the European Commissioner for International Partnerships, to boost the strategic partnership between Egypt and the EU.
In her meeting with Cindy McCain, Executive Director of the World Food Programme (WFP), she emphasised Egypt's commitment to supporting small farmers and achieving agricultural and rural development.
Meanwhile, she discussed the progress of ongoing projects, such as the Sustainable Agricultural Investments and Livelihoods (SAIL) project, with Alvaro Lario, President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). She expressed Egypt's desire for more collaboration with the New Development Bank (NDB) during talks with Vice President Anil Kishora, praising the recent NDB forum held in Egypt.
Additionally, The Minister reviewed priorities for joint co-operation with Rebeca Grynspan, Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), highlighting the strong partnership between Egypt and the United Nations.
These discussions are part of Egypt's broader strategy to attract investments, empower the private sector, and enhance macroeconomic stability through comprehensive economic and structural reforms.
