The Egyptian Competitive Authority (ECA) announced on Sunday a significant strategy aimed at promoting a level playing field for businesses in the country. A Supreme Committee, led by the Prime Minister's Office, will be established to oversee competition policy and competitive neutrality. The initiative recognises the importance of a culture shift within the government. Workshops and training programmes will be conducted for employees across all state administrative agencies, equipping them with the knowledge and tools to uphold competitive neutrality principles. The strategy acknowledges the importance of continuously evaluating its effectiveness. An ex-post assessment will be carried out to gauge the impact of these initiatives on sustaining a competitive market and promoting a favourable business environment.
