Musk rebrands platform to replace bird logo with X
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 24 - 07 - 2023

Twitter will be rebranding, changing its logo to an X and getting rid of all the birds from the platform, Elon Musk announced in a tweet on Sunday. Musk is aiming to turn Twitter into a super everything app, changing its name to X.
"And soon we shall bid adieu to the twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds," said Musk in a tweet.
Musk also changed his profile picture to the new X logo and added X.com to his bio, after tweeting earlier on Sunday that he wants to change Twitter's logo to an X against a black background.
Musk also posted a poll to change the platform's default layout color to black, saying paint it black. "If a good enough X logo is posted tonight, we'll make go live worldwide tomorrow," said Musk in another tweet.
The Twitter rebrand is an exciting new opportunity, said Twitter's CEO, Linda Yaccarino. "Twitter made one massive impression and changed the way we communicate, now, X will go further, transforming the global town square," Yaccarino added.
The iconic blue Twitter bird, called Larry as a tribute to basketball star, Larry Bird, is the platform's most recognisable asset, says the Twitter website.
The Twitter logo was previously changed in April with Dogecoin's Shiba Inu dog, to give the cryptocurrency a boost, which helped surge the coin's market value.
Musk also changed the name of the business to X Corp, saying the change should have been done a long time ago. The change comes after Musk admitted that Twitter's ad revenue is down by 50 percent, causing a negative cash flow.

There's absolutely no limit to this transformation. X will be the platform that can deliver, well....everything. @elonmusk and I are looking forward to working with our teams and every single one of our partners to bring X to the world.
