SR1.9 Billion Development Projects For Jeddah Signed

In a major boost to the massive facelift that Jeddah undergoes, new municipal contracts worth over SR1.9 billion have been awarded. These also included eight contracts for collection and disposal of garbage. The new projects were part of the 30 contracts signed by Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs Prince Mansour Bin Miteb recently. The contracts, worth over SR2.17 billion, were awarded to various Saudi contracting companies and establishments, the Saudi Press Agency reported Saturday.
Sinopec International Petroleum Service Corporation was given two projects - bridge construction at the intersection of Palestine Street with Prince Miteb Street (Arbaeen) and Dallah Street, costing SR179.56 million, and another bridge at the intersection of King Fahd Road (Sitteen) with Industrial Institute (SR96.47 million). A contract worth SR32.7 million for repair work of roads damaged by rain and flashfloods in Balad and Jamia areas was awarded to Safa Projects & General Contracting Co., and another contract, costing SR3.73 million, was given to Al-Moammar Information Systems Co. for supplying equipment to boost geographical information services in various branch municipalities.
Other municipal projects included SR9.1 million consultancy contract for carrying out studies about matters pertaining to planning and organizational charts and SR5.35 million contract for asphalting and pothole patch works.
The minister signed eight cleaning contracts for the collection and transportation of garbage in the Jeddah governorate. Two contracts each were awarded to Al Majal Al Arabi Group in collaboration with Al Jazeera Trading and Manufacturing Company ( SR70.24 million and SR105.85 million), Al Yamamah Trading Works & Contracting Co. (SR317.84 million and SR102.85 million), and Ahmed Sulaiman Al- Fahad and Sons Co. (SR278.36 million and SR264.88 million) while the remaining two contracts were awarded to Sadar Group for General Trading and Contracting Co. (SR221.88 million), and Abdullah Abdul Mohsin Al-Khodari Sons Company (SR 239.78 million).
The minister signed four multimillion riyal projects for the Riyadh region.
They are SR31.69 million contract for asphalting, lighting and pavement work in Zulfi and Al-Ghat regions (Nasser Al-Farraj Contracting Est.), SR34.24 million contract for maintenance of gardens and plantations in Olaya and Suleimaniya districts (Modern Capital Nurseries in Riyadh), SR40.9 million contract for asphalting, lighting and pavement works in the municipalities of Shaqra, Qasab, Morat, Thadeq and Ushaqer (Zaid Saud Ghali Al-Gharbi Est.) and the fourth contract worth SR43.89 million for construction of branch municipal buildings in Areeja, Aziziya, Batha and Namar (Rawai Biladi Ltd Co.).
Other major contracts signed by the minister included SR20.47 million contract for maintenance of major streets in Makkah (General Agencies & Contracting -GAC) and SR12.69 million contract for operation and maintenance of tunnels and associated construction works in Makkah (Dr. Fadel Bisyouni Consultancy office), and SR9.93 million contract for the development of Yanbu beaches in Madinah region(Nashat Contracting Co.).
Mastoura Trading & Contracting Co. was awarded a project worth SR26.52 million for setting up of drainage networks in Hofuf and Mubarraz cities in Al-Ahsa governorate.
