Emirates NBD Partners With Harvard Business Publishing In Leadership Development
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 31 - 12 - 2012

Emirates NBD, the leading Banking Group in the region, celebrated the successful delivery of a new batch of the Managerial Leadership Program (MLP) which was delivered in collaboration with Harvard Business Publishing (HBP).
The program is based on HBP's world renowned design principles such as participant centered learning, learning by doing and learning from others. MLP was designed with the intent of developing the managers' leadership capabilities to analyze a business model and build a business plan aligned to the unit strategy while providing direction and motivation to the team to deliver performance.
The MLP participants received their certificates during a ceremony held at Emirates NBD headquarters which was attended by Rick Pudner - Group CEO, members of the executive committee, senior managers and dignitaries from HBP.
The program broadly covered three major modules, with 'leadership' as the theme: Personal Leadership, Team Leadership and Execution Leadership. Participants went through a comprehensive blended learning experience from September to December, which included workshops, webinars and online learning with great emphasis on peer-to-peer learning through case discussions facilitated by expert moderators.
Commenting on the success of the program, Husam Al Sayed, General Manager - Human Resources, said "At Emirates NBD, we believe that development of our people must be a management priority and such leadership development programs are designed to facilitate career transitions of leaders at different levels. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the successful participants and thank all the parties involved in supporting Emirates NBD's commitment towards preparing and nurturing future leaders for the Group."
Vinay Hebbar, Managing Director, HBP India shared, "Harvard Business Publishing is extremely pleased with the partnership that we have with Emirates NBD to develop the bank's leadership pipeline. The Managerial Leadership Program is one of the most intensive leadership development programs in the region. This program was designed to ensure transformation of selected participants into outstanding leaders by impacting not just leadership skills but also leadership mindset. We appreciate Emirates NBD's commitment towards developing its leaders which was apparent from the level of senior leadership involvement that this program got."
The Managerial Leadership Program is yet another illustration of Emirates NBD's commitment towards providing its employees with opportunities to further enhance their capabilities, which will in turn demonstrate real-time applicability. The Group provides several training programs, which have been developed to suit the varying competencies and qualifications of it staff. Emirates NBD has set up these programs in partnership with a number of educational and training institutions.
