Saudi Arabia's ACWA Power and Egyptian Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy have signed on Tuesday a project agreement to develop a 1.1 GW wind project in Egypt at an investment of $1.5 billion. The project will be located in Egypt's Gulf of Suez and Gabal el Zeit area. ACWA Power will partner with Egypt-based engineering and construction company Hassan Allam Holding to conduct site studies and secure financing. The facility will be designed to use advanced wind turbines with blades height to 220 metre, which helps in achieving the best use of the designated lands with most efficient way, according to company's statement. The plant expected to launch commercially by the end of 2026.
