Egypt's state-run Arab Contractors (AC) on Wednesday said it has won a contract for a 150 km road project in Congo linking two key cities in the country. The project, worth €110 million ($129.4 million), is funded by the European Development Fund (EDF), said Arab Contractors chairman Sayed Farouk in a statement. The road will link the Congolese cities of Kamuesha and Kananga, Farouk added. The project will involve the establishment of three bridges of different lengths as intersections to the main road. The Egyptian official further said the project would also include 33 industrial works for rain drainage and road protection. Arab Contractors has recently begun a project to build and furnish a five-storey building for the defence ministry in the Congolese capital of Kinshasa, Farouk noted. Farouk also noted that the company has won the trust of Congolese customers due to the quality of the projects it implements in the African country and its adherence to delivery dates.
