Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 08 - 03 - 2012

The Spouse of the Saudi Ambassador in Cairo, Ms. Umayya Yousef Ka'aki paid a visit to the Children's Cancer Hospital, known as 57357, and was treated to a walking tour of the hospital's sections and facilities. The wife of Ambassador Ahmed Kattan was escorted in her tour by the hospital's director, Dr. Sherif Abouelnaga, who highlighted the enormous capabilityies of the 57357 hospital, which positioned it among the world's largest cancer hospitals.
During her tour, Mrs. Kattan affectionately presented gifts to many children with cancer, and sat down and chatted amicably with them. When little Heba said to Mrs Kattan "My father lives in Saudi Arabia, and I wish I could see him," the diplomatic wife promised to take Heba to the Kingdom, and host her during the visit.
Mrs. Kattan also volunteered to teach Arabic and English languages in the hospital's school, for two days a week, after learning that the school is currently understaffed in the two languages. The visiting dignitary held an entertainment party for the children who were filled with joy, especially while enjoying the marionette, the Egyptian traditional puppet Aragoz, and the musical band. During the party, the joyful children posed for photos with Mrs. Kattan.
“I was impressed with this world-class hospital, after I saw the top-notch technological capability, the efficiency of medical and nursing care, as well as the highly professional administrative system", said the Ambassador's wife. She also flagged up the high quality medical care, which is provided to children with cancer from Egypt and other Arab countries, pledging to visit the hospital frequently to check on the children and give them a helping hand.
After concluding her four-hour tour, Mrs. Kattan made a donation to support the hospital in carrying out its noble mission, and expressed to the staff her pride in their great medical institution, describing it as an excellent model that combines the values of knowledge, hard work, and human good.
