Egypt's General Authority for Supply Commodities has finished its second tender of importing flour for the current fiscal year. The tender has settled on 27 companies that participate in importing 251,000 tons of flour. The importing will be during November 1st, 2012 till January 31st, 2013. The ton's price ranges between EGP 2564 to 2950. Eng. Mohamed Abou Zayed, Minister of Supply and Domestic Trade, discussed a statement issued by the General Authority for Supply Commodities around the stance of silos in different ports, Alexandria, Damietta and Safaga, in which 121,000 tons of wheat are provided. The minister affirmed that the strategic reserve of wheat is secured and suffice for 6 months of the country's need; referring that 58 million tons of wheat are in the store, while Egypt's monthly use of wheat is about 750,000 tons. He mentioned also that the sugar reserve is secured for coming 5 months, the oil reserve suffices for 2 months besides the signed contracts, and moreover, the rice reserve is secured.
