An Egypt Independent photographer covering the Abbasseya clashes was injured and arrested Friday afternoon and remains in military custody. Her exact location is unknown. Virginie Nguyen, a Belgian photographer working for Egypt Independent, was injured in the face and taken to a hospital where she was briefly treated, then was transported. She is being held at another military location. Belgian embassy officials said they are aware of her detention and are in dialogue with the military about her release.
