Egyptian authorities have arrested a businessman and his son in Suez for allegedly killing 18 protesters during the January uprising. Suez security chief Adel Refaat explained the details of the arrest in a statement aired Wednesday on state TV. Preliminary investigations showed that Ibrahim Farag and his son Adel Farag went up to the roof of their house, which is near the police station, and open fired randomly at protesters. Suez security forces arrested them after finding out they were hiding in a villa in Ain Sokhna, south of Suez. Refaat said he promised families of revolution victims last week that he would arrest Farag. Ibrahim Farag has said he meant only to scare protesters to defend his home and business and he didn't intend to kill them.
