A popular diplomacy delegation of 40 Egyptian public figures left on Monday for Tehran to discuss ways of resuming Egyptian-Iranian relations. Muslim Brotherhood Secretary General Mahmoud Hussein said the group had not been included in the delegation. “But we have independently sent Kamal al-Halabawy to Iran on our behalf,” he said. Cairo Airport authorities said that the delgation would be travelling on the same plane as Qassem al-Husseini, the Iranian diplomat who was accused by the Egyptian government of espionage. Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi, for his part, said he considered the issue of the Iranian diplomat a mere misunderstanding. Translated from the Arabic Edition
