Suzanne Mubarak undergoes catheterization, says health ministry

Suzanne Mubarak, wife of ousted President Hosni Mubarak, currently held in Sharm el-Sheikh International Hospital, will undergo cardiac catheterization on Sunday at 9 pm, according to Adel al-Adawi, the health minister's assistant for curative medicine.
Al-Adawi said that in light of the catheterization, her heart will be either supported by stents or undergo a nuclear scan. After catheterization, it will be determined if she needs to stay for a longer time in intensive care or can be transferred to the hospital.
He added “Suzanne Mubarak suffers health problems in addition to blood pressure and pains at the chest, so she will need specific blood platelets and blood bags during the catheterization.”
Al-Adawi said that it started with chest pains and blood pressure diagnosed as Angina pectoris, which needs to be watched for 24 hours. As her health started to improve, authorities were informed she could be transferred to prison, but her health failed again when she received knowledge that she was to be transferred.
Assem al-Gohari, head of the Illicit Gains Authority (IGA) ordered Suzanne Mubarak be imprisoned for 15 days pending investigations. She was accused of piling up wealth in illegal ways.
Judicial sources at the IGA said that Suzanne Mubarak's legal situation may change if she submits documents proving that her wealth reaches US$2.8 million and she owns a villa. She had pledged to do so during questioning on Friday in Sharm el-Sheikh.
