Amina Khalil launches spring/summer collection
Published in Almasry Alyoum on 22 - 03 - 2011

The young Egyptian designer Amina Khalil has launched her new spring/summer collection. The collection was released on 22 March in the Amina K showroom on Thawra Street in Mohandessin.
The colorful offering features several bold items and modern designs with an authentic twist. “The new spring/summer collection is more mature,” says Amina Khalil. The designs were inspired by 1900's Egyptian silhouettes, the many fashionable pieces mixing the styles of the past with the modernity of tomorrow.
The collection features a range of print and electric colors, including fuchsia, electric blue, electric green and orange. The signature of this collection is the slit sleeve. “I have used chiffon a lot this time,” says Khalil. Linen was also a pleasant surprise in this collection. “I went with light weight fabrics,” adds the young designer.
The new wardrobe features all the signature items of Amina K, including boyfriend shirts, galabiyas and vests -- but with a new twist. Again, Amina K chooses to work with crochet, macramé and the Irish stitch, which were a success in her last fall/winter collection.
There is also the collection of t-shirts and shirts, which are inspired by the colors of the Egyptian flag. Men's shirts are bolder and more colorful this season; they are simply amazing.
The line of accessories has also expanded, with new Kilim pouches, real leather clutches and belts; all pouches and beach bags are lined with plastic on the inside. The famous Amina K braded belt is also present, in an upgraded form.
The famous Amina K shirts are more fitted this time and look amazing paired with a vest or a belt. The collection is fresh and creative; a perfect combination, suitable for our streets and the hot weather.
Maxi dresses and skirts are also part of the collection; the layered skirt features two different lengths, short at the front, long at the back.
The chiffon loose blouses with braded v-necks are a new addition to the Amina K line -- comfortable and chic at the same time.
Overall, the collection is new, colorful and fresh. Amina K will launch her new collection of Shades in one month from now.
