Buses of petroleum companies lined up before polling stations in Nasr City and Heliopolis where Sameh Fahmy, Minister of Petroleum and a National Democratic Party candidate, is running forr election. The buses were transferring employees to polling stations in order to cast their votes. State employees are conventionally transferred by the government in groups to vote on elections day. A state of calm prevailed in the constituency due to absence of supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood candidate Manal Abul Hassan. Fahmy, accompanied by Maged George, Minister of the Environment, Anas al-Fiqqi, Minister of Information, and Ahmed Zaki Badr, Minister of Education, headed on Sunday to the Girls College polling station in Heliopolis to cast their votes.
