We Commit a Crime Twice!
Published in Almasry Alyoum on 11 - 02 - 2009

Mrs. Randa al-Zoghbi drew my attention to the fact that describing illegitimate children as a foundling can not be considered in itself as an abuse against them.
However, the world "foundling" still has bad significance among people although it mainly refers to a commendable effort that saved those children from unhappy fate. She also said that we should read Feqeh al-Sunnah) book for late Saeed Sabeq because it has important talk about such children!
Al-Masry Al-Youm has previously opened the file of the illegal trafficking in illegitimate children through a gang that was selling them to US families to adopt them.
When the daily opened that file, it did not imagine that this file would gain all this importance and have all this extensions that uncover new information every day.
I think that we should welcome any opportunity from an American or non-American family to adopt a child of this type and brings him up in a better life.
Foreign Minister's wife Laila Abul Gheit said the government should enact a law organizing the process of giving illegitimate children to families that could bring them up to put an end to the trafficking in these children!
When media men Amr Adeep and Ahmed Moussa invited me to discuss the issue in Al-Qahira al-Youm (Cairo Today) TV program, great announcer Nagwa Ibrahim made an interposition and said that she has some experience with orphanages.
She added that she saw with her own eyes how these children are insulted in these orphanages. Therefore, she encourages giving illegitimate babies to rich families that can bring them up.
Mr. Amr al-Leithi has also called me and journalist Magdi al-Gallad to watch a female child on Al-Saa (Hour) TV channel to know that there is still more hidden information in this issue!

However, some people still call for leaving these children among us to die in the streets and turn into beggars and criminals in the future instead of giving them an opportunity to have a decent life in any place in accordance what is permitted by the law and the essence of the religion!
Unfortunately, we forget that denying these children to have a better life means that the society commits a double crime in the face of these children.
When these children came to life without parents, the community punished them in advance without being guilty. The father of an illegitimate child may be a well known personality, but no one knows that he is, in fact, a criminal!

If we denied these children from having a better alternative chance, this means that we have stolen their parents and, then, their life because they will join schools and universities without education, if they joined them. They would, then, be ignorant graduates without a future like their parents!

Seriously enough, I heard from some people that these children are a "business" for many people, who allege that they defend our dignity and the honor of our children while they, in fact, want to gain money!
