For the Fifth Day: Demos of Anger in Egypt and World against Gaza Holocaust
Published in Almasry Alyoum on 02 - 01 - 2009

For the fifth day in a row, demonstrations of anger continued yesterday in the Egyptian streets and a number of Islamic and European capitals against the Gaza Holocaust.
The demonstrators called for a halt to the Israeli barbarian attacks on Gaza, while the Egyptians called for expelling the Israeli ambassador in Cairo and stopping gas exports to Israel.
In Alexandria, political forces and movements including a number of political parties, Kefaya movement, and the Anti-Zionism Popular Committee staged a protest in Mansheya Square. The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) did not participate in the demonstration after a quarrel was erupted between the group and its partners in last Sunday's demonstration.
Some 5,000 MB women staged a strike in Dakahlia two days ago. The demonstrators were cordoned off and attacked by security forces to prevent them from participating in a conference in the Medical Syndicate Club.
The women burned the Israeli flag and a doll on which the Star of David was painted.
In addition, some 15,000 people demonstrated in Damanhour, Beheira to participate in a march called by the MB to support the Gazans.
At the global level, some 1,000 people demonstrated before the Israeli and US embassies in The Hague. The protesters carried black balloons and the Palestinian flag. Many political and trade union leaders demonstrated in Brussels and other cities in Belgium.
