The tribes of Al-Tarabin, Al-Sawarka, Al-Romaylat and Al-Tayaha of Rafah yesterday decided to hold a conference on December 15 in Agra to discuss the economic and security problems of Sinai. They accused the government of failing to solve their problems and of killing their sons in the streets on false charges. They said in a statement of which al-Masry Al-Youm has a copy that the government has abandoned them and left them in the face of an enemy that knows no accord or ethics. The statement said they will put forward eight demands, namely the immediate and unconditional release of all detainees, especially Mossad Abu Fagr, the cancellation of all sentences that were fabricated in absentia, prosecution of the perpetrators of murder and torture crimes against the people of Sinai, prevention of indiscriminate killings, prevention of taking women, children and elderly hostages, granting ownership of land for the people of Sinai, cancellation of the interests of the Agricultural Credit and Development Bank and respect for the customs and traditions of the people of Sinai.
