The Cairo Criminal Court has issued six decisions on Monday during the hearing of the murder case of Lebanese singer Suzan Tamim, in which businessman Hisham Talaat Mustafa and former State Security officer Mohsen el-Sokkary are accused. The court had issued a gag order for the case before. Court President El-Mohamadi Qonsua had adjourned till December 20 to discuss with Dr. Hazem Metwalli Ismail, a coroner of the UAE, his autopsy report on Susan. The court would also hear the testimony of Farida el-Shamali, also a coroner of the UAE, who had conducted the DNA analysis of the victim. The court also decided to include in the case documents the order banning Mustafa from leaving the country. It is the order that was issued after the prosecutors investigated with him. Attached to it are the complaints from Suzan Tamim against Mustafa threatening to kill her in London, which were sent by the Interpol.
The court inquired from Cairo Airport the data of Suzan Tamim's arrival and departure from April 24, 2007 to July 2008, and to learn why she was barred from entry when she came on board the British Airways flight coming from London.
The court also included a copy of the two reports about Suzan's father Abdel Sattar Tamim caught with 50 grams of cocaine at Cairo International Airport in 2004, and about him throwing a maid out of the window from the fourth floor of the Four Seasons Hotel that is owned by Mustafa. The court also requested the results of the prosecutors' investigation in these two incidents. In yesterday's session, the court heard the testimony of the fourth witness, Ayman Mohamed Shawkat, a police officer, and the sixth witness, Ahmed Maged Ali, an accountant at Talaat Mustafa Group. It also heard the ninth witness, Bayoumi Mahmoud Abdel Aziz, a security officer of Sakkara Country Club, and the 13th witness, Mohamed Samir Zaki, owner of Red Sea Co. for real estate in Sharm el-Sheikh. The court decided to remand the accused in custody.
