WorleyParsons has officially won a contract to establish Egypt's first nuclear power plant after it agreed to all conditions set by the Egyptian Nuclear stations authority. The contract is scheduled to be signed within two weeks. Yassin Ibrahim, head of the authority, said the Australian company won LE900-million contract last Tuesday to establish the Egypt's first-ever nuclear plant on two phases in accordance with Egypt's conditions. This contract is the lowest in terms of the financial value.
The authority held a meeting on Tuesday night to study what has been reached during its negotiations with WorleyParsons after the exclusion of the US Bechtel Corporation.
Ibrahim stressed that the negotiations the authority made with the Australian company during the last few days succeeded and WorleyParsons agreed to all conditions and showed its full commitment to the Egyptian tender document.
